Introduction to a New Era

In 2025, we will witness the dawn of a new era with the birth of Generation Beta, also known as ‘the artificial ones.’ This upcoming generation is set to redefine our societal and technological landscapes, marking a significant shift from previous generations like Millennials and Gen Z. As we step into this new age, it’s crucial to understand the unique characteristics and potential impacts of ‘the artificial ones’ on our rapidly evolving world.

Millennials: A Retrospective Glance

Interestingly, millennials, once central to youth-focused media and advertising, are nearing their mid-40s. As a result, the focus shifts to younger generations like Gen Z and Alpha, and soon, to the anticipated ‘the artificial ones.’

Evolving Generations: From Boomers to Beta

Every 15 years, generational shifts reshape society. For instance, Baby Boomers (1946-1964) grew up in a post-war era, while Gen Z (1997-2010) was raised amidst a digital revolution. Additionally, Generation Alpha (2011-2024) is now entering adolescence.

The Emergence of Generation Beta

From 2025 onwards, Generation Beta will start to take its place in society. Notably, they will grow in a world vastly different from the current one, dominated by technological advancements. Therefore, this generation will have little connection to the 20th century.

Defining Generations: A Flexible Approach

Generational boundaries, typically determined by sociologists, are based on shared cultural and technological experiences. However, these boundaries are fluid, and experiences and attitudes often overlap between adjacent generations.

Characteristics of ‘The Artificial Ones’

Dubbed ‘the artificial ones’ due to their anticipated close relationship with artificial intelligence, Generation Beta is expected to navigate the world’s evolving needs adeptly. Furthermore, they are likely to represent progress in tolerance and openness.

Identifying Your Generation: A Timeline

To understand where you fit in the generational landscape:

  • Baby Boomers: 1946-1964
  • Generation X: 1965-1980
  • Millennials: 1981-1996
  • Gen Z: 1997-2010
  • Generation Alpha: 2011-2024
  • Generation Beta: 2025-2040

Conclusion: Reflecting on the Times

Each generation reflects its era, embodying its time’s societal progress and challenges. As we approach the era of ‘the artificial ones,’ we continue to witness society’s dynamic and ever-evolving nature through its generational shifts.
